In the past, our museum had organized battlefield tours to Gettysburg, where we specialize in "Western NY at Gettysburg". During this tour we will visit the Gettysburg National Military Park, tak in the Visitor Center, take in the movie provided by the National Park Service, narrated by Morgan Freedmen "Birth opf a Nation", followed by the presentation at the Cyclorama, the 1890's painting depicting the 3d day's battle at Gettysburg, featuring Pickett's Charge.
Also, during our tour we usually start off our tour at Gettysburg Miniture, which is the largest diorama of the battle in miniture, giving you a good overview of what we will be seeing.
We cover all three days of the battle, in 2.5 hr parts, to take in the history, sites and the troop movements of each day, while visiting the various monuments related units from Western NY, which took part in America's most costliest battle.
We have items from the museum which we shopw and demonstrate, to help everyone understand the battle as well as the time period, so we can help history to come alive.
